cream's got to go

not that I'm writing code these days, but I do use VIM as my text editor and logfile tailer. However, for a time vim.org was heavily suggesting use of Cream for Windows users, so I gave it a whirl on my netbook. Slower than bare vim, seems to override parts of my .vimrc, and the worst of it is that it disables modes! Next thing I know I'm typing movement commands into configuration files.... If I didn't want modes, why would I use vim? Lame.
